Overview
Aiula is a USF planet recognized for its extraordinary geographical formations and advanced civil engineering. Its surface is dominated by massive natural super-plateaus that extend for thousands of kilometers and rise several kilometers above the surrounding regions.
Instead of covering the planet in cities, its inhabitants developed an architecture adapted to this geography. Major cities are built on these rocky platforms, while the low-lying valleys and regions below preserve expansive natural areas including forests, rivers, lakes, and plains.
The necessity of connecting settlements separated by deep canyons spurred the construction of Megabridges, gargantuan infrastructures integrating high-speed rail, automated transport, energy grids, communications, and cargo corridors. These structures represent one of the USF’s greatest civil engineering achievements.
Planetary View
From space, Aiula displays continents dominated by green and brown hues, with approximately 70% land and 30% water. The landmasses are extensive and relatively continuous, interrupted by interior seas, large lakes, and deep river networks.
The super-plateaus do not stand out as artificial structures from this distance, but as part of the natural continental geography; their massive scale creates subtle color variations and shadows. Expansive cloud systems drift over oceans and continents, while a thin blue atmospheric layer sharply defines the planet against the void of space.
Surface View
The surface is characterized by wide horizons and massive natural platforms whose edges rise kilometers above the surrounding territories. Cities atop the plateaus blend modern architecture with residential zones, green spaces, and massive transit hubs.
Megabridges span the canyons, connecting regions that would otherwise be separated by vast distances. Some incorporate multiple circulation levels with high-speed rail, automated transport lanes, and cargo corridors operating simultaneously. From their observation decks, one can view the lush forests, rivers, and lakes in the valley floors.
The climate is generally temperate with blue skies, shifting cloud patterns, and rising air currents; despite advanced development, Aiula retains vast natural expanses that contrast with its urban zones and impressive infrastructure.
Fauna and Flora
Temperate forests with broad-canopy trees, grassy plains, gliding birds adapted to high drops, and small arboreal mammals.
