The Kordar are a humanoid-Reptile species originating from the arid, mineral-rich planet of Kordar. Their homeworld is characterized by vast mineral deserts, eroded mountain ranges, and enormous underground deposits of valuable resources. Evolution in this harsh environment shaped a physically resilient species accustomed to extreme temperatures, demanding physical labor, and limited natural resources. They are easily recognized by their unusual elongated heads, featuring distinctive lateral cranial extensions with eyes positioned near their outer ends, granting them an exceptionally wide field of vision.
Mining, heavy engineering, and metallurgy are deeply embedded in Kordar civilization. Their industrial heritage is a fundamental part of their cultural identity, and they take considerable pride in their ability to transform raw planetary resources into advanced machinery, infrastructure, and technology. Many Kordar consider practical craftsmanship and technical knowledge just as important as military strength.
Although they are generally straightforward and somewhat militaristic, the Kordar are not inherently aggressive. They have a strong defensive military tradition and value discipline, courage, and preparedness. In galactic history, they were the first species to propose the creation of the USF (United Systems Fleet), believing that a unified military force was necessary to protect independent civilizations against the growing threats posed by the Kratari Cultists and the Shithi Empire. This initiative established the Kordar as important advocates of collective galactic defense.
Kordar individuals are notoriously difficult to intimidate. They rarely panic in dangerous situations and tend to approach threats with determination rather than fear. Their culture admires practical experience, perseverance, loyalty, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Kordar adventurers commonly become soldiers, mercenaries, engineers, miners, explorers, bounty hunters, industrial specialists, or spacecraft operators. Many leave their homeworld to serve in the USF, pursue valuable mineral discoveries, work as independent contractors, or defend settlements threatened by hostile forces.
