Overview
Daerion is a tropical planet characterized by a predominance of dry land, which accounts for approximately 87% of its surface, while the remaining 13% consists of freshwater lakes and rivers. Its continents feature vast plains, dense forests, humid jungles, and light vegetation regions, interrupted by countless lakes of varying sizes.
Its main particularity is the distribution of water: from the surface it looks like a world full of lakes and canals, but from space it is clearly distinguished as a terrestrial planet. The combination of colors of its vegetation, soils, and waters gives it a unique appearance among the known worlds of Star Chord.
Planetary View
From space, Daerion presents a surface predominantly olive green, emerald green, and yellowish green, with extensive regions of ochre and soft brown tones. Thousands of freshwater lakes appear scattered across the continents, forming irregular spots of dark turquoise and petroleum blue, connected by thin rivers snaking through the vegetation.
No continuous oceans exist; even the largest bodies of water are surrounded by land. Due to the orbital distance, no mountains, elevations, detailed textures, or geometric patterns are distinguishable; the surface is perceived through large areas of natural color and smooth transitions.
The only permanent white zones correspond to polar ice caps, while other visible white areas are scattered clouds and tropical cloud bands. A thin greenish-blue atmosphere delimits the planet against the black space.
Surface View
The sky of Daerion presents a turquoise, slightly greenish hue, especially intense near the horizon. Under the light of its suns, vegetable expanses show different shades of green, from deep dark forests to yellowish-green grasslands. The freshwater lakes reflect the sky with petroleum blue, turquoise, and bluish-green nuances, while rivers cross the plains forming natural channels between trees, shrubs, and tropical vegetation.
The banks are covered with lush plants and dark brown damp soils. The environment is warm and humid, with frequent rain, occasional mist over the water, and slow-moving clouds. From open areas, one can contemplate large stretches of land dotted with lakes as far as the eye can see.
Fauna and Flora
Tropical jungles, humid forests, warm grasslands, riparian plants, large-canopy trees, and terrestrial and aquatic fauna adapted to the numerous lakes and rivers.
