Overview
Borial is a small, cold, rocky planet dominated by snow, ice, and vast expanses of gray terrain. It has no visible oceans, and much of its surface is covered by layers of ice and hardened snow. Its extreme climate and remote location make it an ideal site for scientific research facilities, data processing complexes, and military installations specializing in arctic operations.
A small community of Elafe inhabits the planet, taking advantage of their natural adaptation to extreme cold to maintain permanent settlements in its harshest regions.
Planetary View
From space, Borial appears as a predominantly gray and white sphere, with extensive frozen terrain and exposed rocky regions. No open oceans are visible; instead, the surface is characterized by frozen continental landmasses, snowfields, and compacted ice.
A thin atmosphere creates a subtle blue-gray glow around the planet, while scattered clouds drift across portions of its surface. The inhabited facilities are too small to dominate the landscape, producing only faint concentrations of artificial light on the night side. A single moon accompanies the planet in its orbit.
Surface View
Borial’s surface is a cold landscape of gray rock, white snow, bluish ice, and frozen tundra. The sky is usually pale blue-gray, with subdued lighting that gives the horizon a muted appearance. Strong winds sweep across exposed terrain, occasionally lifting clouds of snow into the air.
Scientific and military installations are built to withstand extreme temperatures and are connected by protected routes, enclosed passageways, and specialized transport systems.
The “Elaf City” settlement was established by the USF for the Elafe community after they lost their planet during the G.G.W. Away from inhabited areas, the environment is quiet and isolated, dominated by howling winds and the occasional cracking of ice.
Fauna and Flora
Sparse lichens, mosses, and cold-resistant organisms, accompanied by limited wildlife adapted to polar conditions.
